Another Dream Come True

April 24, 2025. May 8, 2025. July 23, 2025.
These are three dates recorded in my dream journal. In each of those dreams, people were speaking to me in Spanish, and I was trying to learn enough Spanish to communicate with them. At the time, I didn't fully understand what God was showing me. I simply documented the dreams and continued moving forward.

Last night, I returned from what I can only describe as a dream come true.
A year ago, God showed me this mission trip to Guatemala. Looking back now, I can see that He was giving me glimpses of moments that had not yet happened. This isn't the first time. God has often shown me moments that I would later walk into, reminding me that He truly is the Alpha and the Omega—the One who sees the end from the beginning.
Psalm 139:16 says,
"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
I have come to believe that sometimes God allows us to peek into those pages. Not so we can control the future, but so we can learn to trust the Author.
Still, no dream could have fully prepared me for what I experienced when I stepped onto the soil of Guatemala.

The beauty of the people. The hunger for God. The opportunity to serve. The joy of sharing the Gospel. The privilege of watching the Holy Spirit move among people from a different nation and culture. It was all far greater than I imagined.
One of the greatest blessings of this trip was watching my spiritual father step into a new realm of glory that his obedience has prepared for him.
I don't know many men who carry such a genuine heart for people. His humility, faithfulness, and purity of heart have helped raise up a generation of youth who are bold, steadfast, and unapologetic in their pursuit of the things of God.
What an honor it has been to witness his "yes" to the Lord and the fruit that has come from it.

This was my second mission trip, and there was something especially meaningful about leading a generation that doesn't simply desire a platform but longs to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the nations.
There is something powerful about watching young people move beyond being spectators and step into the call to serve, love, and share the Gospel. I watched students pray for people, serve with joy, step outside of their comfort zones, and discover that ministry is not confined to a church building.
I left Guatemala encouraged and full of hope.
Hope that God is still calling people.
Hope that young people are still answering.
Hope that the Gospel still changes lives.
Most of all, I left grateful.

Grateful that God allows ordinary people to participate in His extraordinary plans. Grateful that He still speaks. Grateful that He prepares good works for us in advance and then invites us to walk in them.
What a blessing it is to walk in purpose.
There is nothing like witnessing the fruit of obedience and seeing God make room for the very thing He created you to do. The journey is not always easy. There are sacrifices, uncertainties, and moments when the cost feels heavy.
But living in purpose is always worth it.
Sometimes, what feels like an impossible dream is actually an invitation from God to trust Him long enough to see it become reality.
And this week, I had the privilege of living another dream come true.

livivng in purpose,
Erika Michelle
