Getting Clarity of your Calling through Dreams

For a long time, I didn’t fully understand how God was speaking to me.

I just knew I was dreaming… a lot.

Some of the dreams felt random, some felt intense, and some stayed with me long after I woke up—like they meant something, but I didn’t have the language to interpret them.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that God was revealing things about my life, my identity, and even my calling—through my dreams. Once I began to understand that, everything shifted.

Scripture shows us that God speaks in many ways, including through dreams and visions (see Job 33:14–16). But the key isn’t just receiving dreams—it’s stewarding them well.

Because revelation without understanding can lead to confusion…but revelation with stewardship leads to clarity.

I’ve had dreams where God exposed areas of my life that needed healing.

Dreams that revealed spiritual warfare I wasn’t aware of,

And dreams that gave direction about seasons I was entering before I saw it in the natural.

But I had to learn how to partner with what I was receiving.

If you’ve been dreaming and don’t fully understand what it means, here are 3 ways to begin stewarding your dreams:

1. Write It Down Immediately Dreams fade quickly. Details matter.

   Even if it doesn’t make sense—write it down as soon as you wake up.Symbols, emotions, people, locations—capture it all.

   Over time, you’ll begin to notice patterns in how God speaks to you.
   

2. Don’t Interpret from Emotion—Interpret from Truth Not every dream is literal, and not every feeling in a dream reflects reality.

   Instead of reacting emotionally, bring your dream back to God and His Word.

   
   

   Ask: What is God revealing? What aligns with Scripture?

   This protects you from misinterpretation and keeps you grounded in truth.
   

3. Seek God Before Seeking Opinions It’s easy to run to people for answers—but God is the first interpreter.

   Spend time in prayer before asking anyone else.Let the Holy Spirit give you insight, then seek confirmation if needed.

   Clarity comes from relationship—not just information.
   

   The truth is, God is always speaking.

   The question is… are we positioned to understand?
