Wounded and Worthy

One of the biggest lies I used to believe was that God couldn't really use me until I was completely healed.

I thought I needed to have every answer, every wound closed, and every struggle behind me before I was qualified to help anyone else. But I've learned that God often does some of His greatest work through us while He's still working in us.

Don't get me wrong—God cares deeply about our healing. He doesn't ignore our pain or ask us to pretend we're okay. He invites us to bring every broken place to Him. But healing isn't always a one-time event. Sometimes it's a process, and God doesn't put your purpose on hold while that process unfolds.

I've experienced seasons where God was healing parts of my heart while also opening doors I never imagined. At first, that felt uncomfortable. I questioned whether I was ready. But looking back, I realize that walking closely with Him in those moments was part of how He was healing me.

The enemy wants us to believe our wounds disqualify us. Jesus reminds us that His grace is enough. Your wounds may explain your story, but they don't define your identity.

The beautiful thing about following Jesus is that He doesn't wait for us to become perfect before inviting us into His work. He simply asks us to stay surrendered. As we obey Him, He continues transforming us from the inside out.

That doesn't mean we ignore the hard work of healing. We still pursue freedom. We still renew our minds with God's Word. We still invite the Holy Spirit into the places that hurt. We still seek wise counsel and accountability when we need it.

But we don't have to wait until we've "arrived" before saying yes to what God has called us to do.

Some of the people you're called to encourage don't need someone who's never struggled. They need someone who can honestly say, "I've been there, and God is faithful." Maybe today you're carrying wounds that no one else can see. Maybe you're still grieving, still rebuilding, still learning to trust God in a new way.

Take heart.

Your healing is happening, even if it's slower than you expected. And while God is healing you, He's also shaping you into someone who can carry hope to others.

You are not disqualified because you've been wounded.

In Christ, you're still worthy. You're still called. And God is more than able to use your life—not in spite of your story, but often through it.

There is glory in our woundedness because we have a Savior and Healer who knows our worth. Our wounds don't diminish our value—they become places where His grace, power, and healing are revealed.
